Features

📐

Any Task Counts

A lesson, review, multistep or quiz all satisfy the gate. Whatever Math Academy gives you that day works.

🔒

Pick Apps to Block

Choose which apps to lock. Android pins the usual social media apps at the top; iOS uses the system picker.

🔓

Unlocks Automatically

Finish a task and your apps open again, right through to the next daily reset.

⏰

Reset On Your Schedule

The day rolls over at 04:00 by default, so a late night still counts as the same day. Change it to any time you like.

🛡️

Fails Closed

No connection, a bad sign-in or an unexpected response all keep your apps locked. Turning off the internet is not a way out.

⚡

No Server, No Account

MathGate talks to Math Academy directly from your phone. Your password is encrypted on the device and never sent anywhere else.

How It Works

1

Sign in once

Enter your Math Academy details. The session lasts a month and refreshes itself.

2

Pick apps to block

Choose the distracting apps you want locked until you have done your maths.

3

Turn on blocking

Open a blocked app and MathGate stops you before you get anywhere.

4

Do a task

Complete anything on Math Academy and everything unlocks until tomorrow.

Android and iPhone

🤖

Android 8.0+

An accessibility service notices a blocked app opening and covers it in about a tenth of a second. No permanent notification to live with.

📱

iOS 17+

Screen Time shields your chosen apps at system level, so the block survives a reboot. iOS never tells MathGate which apps you picked — it hands over opaque tokens instead.

Two apps, one repository, the same rule. Neither is on a store: Android means building the APK, and iOS also needs your own Apple developer account, because Apple grants the Screen Time entitlement per developer rather than per app.
